The other day while sitting in the front room I noticed something on the window… As it is in the beginning of February and therefore mid winter and we had just came out of a very cold snap, where we had temperatures of -10c, I was not expecting to see a Garden Spider
I don’t ever remember seeing one until the spring. This is one of our most common large spiders that are found around our gardens and pretty much everywhere else outside.
One of the methods to identify this spider is the white cross shape on it abdomen. This is why it is sometimes known as the cross spider.
